The best way to experience a place is with a local. That’s why Betsy Spivak’s been making Italian friends since 2014. Today, Spivak creates off-the-beaten-path trips to Italy with Italian chef Gregorio Fierro. This fall, you can join them on a tour of Naples and Campania. Fierro will lead a pizza crawl through Naples with plenty of stops for street food like cuoppo, a paper cone full of something fried, often calamari and anchovies. A four-day exploration of Salerno includes a tour (and lunch) at Tenuta Vannulo, a water buffalo dairy near the Greek Ruins of Paestum.
