Nourished by culinary traditions that stretch back for generations and the bounty of nearby farms, Philadelphia is a hub of creative entrepreneurship, and home to renowned culinary expertise.

Food is Philadelphia’s story. Our booming farm-to-table restaurant scene and a new and growing batch of community gardens, start-up farms, local cheesemakers, and artisan distillers make it clear: the city and its environs are undergoing a food and farming renaissance. We’re capturing it here in the pages of Edible Philly, a magazine supported by advertising and free to our readers, for you – our readers and local food enthusiasts – to savor.

Heather McMonnies

HEATHER MCMONNIES | ADVERTISING SALES REP

A former museum curator turned specialty farmer, Heather McMonnies has grown edible flowers, rare berries, wild greens, and gourmet mushrooms for fine dining in Philadelphia over the past twelve years. She has served as a conduit of translation between what is truly regionally hyper-seasonal and elevated rare ingredients to the plated creations of many great chefs. She’s transitioning much of her knowledge about culinary mushrooms into the upcoming launch of a new brand for home & lifestyle indoor gardening for those who are curious about growing their own functional foods. Hedge will exist to demystify mushroom growing for the modern kitchen.
