TULSI BITTERS
 

Tulsi is an herb used in traditional medicine. Tooth of the Lion Farm & Apothecary mixes it with other herbs to make bitters that are said to promote digestion and stress relief. Buy it at the Rittenhouse and Bryn Mawr farmers’ markets. toothofthelion.com

ALICE WALKER LATTE

GONGURA
 

This sour, leafy green is a type of hibiscus. It’s used to make a South Indian spicy chutney. Tasneem Khalid grows the vegetable at Green Zameen. It’s available in the fall until the first frost at the Headhouse Farmers’ Market. greenzameen.wordpress.com
