Why I Love Chestnut Hill Farmers Market

I WAS THE MARKET MANAGER HERE FOR TEN YEARS until October 2023. I love this market so much that I continue to be a dedicated, weekly, all-weather shopper. And I am not alone. This market has hardcore regulars. It's set up for socializing and connection—sharing recipes, learning from each other, and chatting. It's a happy place. The vendors are all outstanding, particularly Taproot Farm. (I know at least one customer who comes all the way from South Philadelphia mostly to shop at Taproot!) The market inspired me to start the Substack newsletter "My Farmers' Market Basket" about markets in general, but for obvious reasons, with a focus on the Chestnut Hill Farmers' Market. -Marisol Villamil
