Keep it Fresh - Kitchen Garden Series Produce Bags
Heidi Barr, the brains and style behind Kitchen Garden Series, started out making napkins from upcycled men’s t-shirts to raise money for a local farm. Now she donates 10% of her profits to urban agriculture projects and makes a line of products, including our favorite produce bag. It’s made from breathable linen, which wicks away moisture, so leaves stay crisp and fresh much longer compared to other types of storage. The bags can be used for any produce you’ve got—for root veggies, dampen the linen before adding them to the bag to keep them from drying out. Simply rinse the bags in the sink to clean, and, years down the line when they’re truly worn out, throw them in the compost.
