Fall-Holiday Checklist: New Places to Eat, Drink and Shop
There is no shortage of newness happening in Philly these days - new places to eat, drink and shop. We’ve rounded up a few you’ll want to be sure you check off your list this season.
✅ THE LUCKY WELL INCUBATOR
Chef Chad Rosenthal has morphed his Lucky Well space on Spring Garden Street into a launching pad for talented, up-and-coming chefs and culinary entrepreneurs. It currently houses 4 different chefs & concepts plus a full bar under one roof: Rob Miskell (Sauce Boy for pasta and Italian specialties), Jacob Trinh (Nuong for Vietnamese grilled street food), Marcos Espinoza (ShipRock for Navajo frybread tacos) and Scott Sumsky (The Lucky Well for BBQ and comfort classics). This unique opportunity allows the chefs to showcase their skills, acquire practical restaurant ownership experience, and benefit from a unique business mentorship program through a 6 month residency. It’s the perfect spot for an indecisive group or to watch the big game. 990 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia. Wed - Sun. theluckywellinc.com
✅ WHEAT & VINE PROVISIONS
The favorite independent specialty shop in The Shops in the The Square in Dublin has expanded into a second location in Doylestown! This new outpost features Rival Bros. coffee bar, baked goods from Pie Bird Farm, and all the specialty goods, cheese boards and small-batch local foods you love. 266 South Main Street, Doylestown. ✅ FARMER JAWN PRODUCE AND KITCHEN
Earlier this year, Christa Barfield, owner and operator of Farmer Jawn, took over 123 acres of farmland on Westtown School’s 600-acre campus in West Chester. Barfield’s mission is to not only farm the land using regenerative organic practices, but to use it as a teaching farm and help more people of color to learn about farming and growing their own food. Westtown students also participate and work with the farm and market. 1225 E Street Road, West Chester. WedSun.farmerjawn.co
