The Bitter Worm, a Non-ABV Cocktail

This is an easy cocktail to prepare, but complex in flavor. The wormwood glycerite is made from the fresh leafy tops of the plant without alcohol so the true flavors of the herb come through without added harshness while keeping teetotalers safe. Wormwood has been used for thousands of years to treat digestive problems. Seasoned bar goers know to ask for a bitters and soda when they’ve overindulged in food and drink.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces seltzer
  • 2 milliliters wormwood glycerite
  • Lemon wedge (for serving)

Preparation

Pour seltzer over ice in a tall glass. Add two droppers of wormwood glycerite (adjust to taste). Stir gently 3 rotations to incorporate. Garnish with lemon.
