Every other Saturday in July & August • 11am–12pm

Join us for Kids at Greensgrow, our summer Saturday youth programming. Classes will be taught by our collaborators at PwC, from their Access Your Potential curriculum, aimed at teaching financial literacy through sustainability. Children will learn about healthy eating, recycling and water conservation. Each Saturday morning we will have coffee and pastry pop-ups, our farmstand and places for parents to hang out and relax on the farm.

Please note:

• This curriculum is best suited children in 2nd-4th grades.
• This is not a drop-off program. Parents are required to accompany their children to the site and stay for the duration of the class.
• We ask for a donation of $5 per student. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
• Please RSVP below to reserve your place. Walk-ins welcome.

July 6th: Healthy Eating • ages 5–10

Students will learn about the importance of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables each day. Together you will explore the nutrients in fruits and vegetables of different colors and learn the difference between whole and processed foods, and how to budget to make the best nutrition choices.

July 20th: The Value of Recycling • ages 7–10

Students will be asked to consider the journey from creation to disposal of aluminum cans. This activity will help students understand how a familiar item like a soda can is made and transported, and what happens to that can after we have finished with it. The lesson will include mapping the journey of the can, as well as learning about state recycling initiatives.

August 3rd: Conservation of Water • ages 5–10

Students will learn about fresh water: where it comes from and how we use (and waste) it in everyday activities. Students will learn that there are two parts to water conservation: quality and quantity. For quantity, they will learn about using less, and quality is about limiting what we throw down the drain. Students will learn about filtering by testing water filters and develop strategies to use less, and save more, water.

August 17th: Healthy Eating • ages 5–10

Students will learn about the importance of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables each day. Together you will explore the nutrients in fruits and vegetables of different colors and learn the difference between whole and processed foods, and how to budget to make the best nutrition choices.

August 31st: The Value of Recycling Description • ages 7–10

Students will be asked to consider the journey from creation to disposal of aluminum cans. This activity will help students understand how a familiar item like a soda can is made and transported, and what happens to that can after we have finished with it.
