WITH WELL-EXECUTED TACOS AND A BAR SLINGING FRESH MARGARITAS, MISSION TAQUERIA is easy to love. In the last year, the restaurant gave fans a reason to come back again and again: TACOLAB. Each month, a one-night- only experimental dinner brings a different celebrated chef (and their kitchen staff) through Mission’s doors to create a mash-up meal. Though the featured cuisines are all over the map—Hawaiian from Poi Dog, Japanese from Royal Sushi’s Jesse Ito, Malaysian from Saté Kampar’s Ange Branca—the guest chefs and Mission team join forces to make magic. Recent dinners have included lamb shawarma tacos from the Zahav crew and a night with Marc Vetri working the tortilla press while dishing up gnocchi with a Mexican influence.
