A Taste of Kensington: A Benefit for the Greensgrow Community Kitchen
Eat, drink, and celebrate! Join Greensgrow Farms, Philly’s nationally recognized urban farm and garden center, at “A Taste of Kensington,” a unique event on Wednesday, June 13 from 6-10 PM in support of the Greensgrow Community Kitchen, an incubator space for local food entrepreneurs that since 2011 has helped over 75 local food visionaries turn their dreams into reality.
For one exceptional evening, the urban oasis of Greensgrow Farms will be transformed for more than 300 guests, featuring live entertainment, a silent auction, local libations and culinary dishes reflective of Kensington’s expansive and award-winning food scene. Favorite local chefs will provide samples of signature dishes, including farm-to-table hors d’oeuvres from the Greensgrow Community Kitchen. Philadelphia Brewing Co. will be pouring its outstanding brews alongside Rowhouse Spirits’ signature cocktail.
General Admission tickets (7-10 PM) are $55. VIP tickets are $85 and include a one-hour exclusive reception starting at 6 PM during which guests will sample ciders from Kensington’s blossoming cider scene, have an exclusive opportunity to meet restaurant professionals from Greensgrow’s acclaimed local culinary partners, learn from Martha’s Head Bartender Mike Landers how to mix a refreshing Greensgrow-themed cocktail using farm-fresh seasonal ingredients and Rowhouse Spirits, and enjoy a cooking demonstration by Fette Sau’s Executive Chef Reinaldo Alfonso.
