Greensgrow and the Food Trust invite you to learn about gardening on a budget and how SNAP benefits can get you started. Get all the information you need to start using your SNAP benefits to buy seed starts, plant your own garden, and harvest fresh produce from your backyard!
Find out about Greensgrow’s SNAP Share program and the Philly Food Bucks program that connect you to great affordable local produce in Philadelphia. Did you know we accept SNAP/EBT Access Card at our farmstand and that you can receive Philly Food Buck coupons for every $5.00 spent?
We’re having free gardening workshops and cooking demonstrations, tours of our gardens and big farmstand full of local produce and lots of seed, herbs and veggie starts to inspire you. Our staff experts will be on hand to answer questions and give you tips on the best plants to grow for your space.
This event will be offered at Greensgrow West on May 18.
Times (Subject to Change):
12:15-12:45 and 2:00-2:30: Cooking demonstration, lead by Chef Hugo Campos, featuring a vegetable item that is available as a seed start and at the farmstand
1:00-1:30 and 3:00-3:30: Workshop on growing fruits and vegetables, and then tour the Greensgrow Farms hoophouses with Head Farmer, Deirdre
